Rejected Omega Was Told to Sing the Luna Hymn as a Joke – But Her Voice Left the Alpha King Speechless

Walking Alone Toward the Future

Thera caught my eye and nodded once: encouragement and acknowledgement.

At the altar, waiting with barely contained emotion, stood Charles. He wore formal black embroidered with silver wolves that matched my gown.

His hair was pulled back, revealing the strong lines of his face. His gray eyes locked onto me the moment I appeared, and I saw his breath catch.

He looked at me like I was the only person in the world. I walked down the long aisle alone.

I had no father to give me away because I wasn’t being given—I was choosing.

With every step, I felt the weight of expectation and the whispers that followed me: wolfless, barren, nobody. But also: curse-breaker, brave, chosen.

I kept my head high and my eyes on Charles, and I walked toward my future.

Sacred Union

When I reached the altar, he extended his hand. I took it, and his fingers closed around mine like a lifeline.

“You’re stunning,”

he murmured, too quiet for anyone else to hear.

“You’re biased,”

I whispered back.

“Completely.”

The officiant, High Priestess Moira, the oldest and most respected spiritual leader in the territories, raised her hands. The hall fell silent.

“We gather under the moon’s witness,”

she began, her voice resonant and ancient.

“To bind two souls in sacred union. Not merely a king and his chosen Luna, but two people who have walked through darkness and emerged whole.”

She turned to Charles.

“Alpha King Charles Washington, you were cursed, split from yourself, divided between man and beast. The moon goddess tested you, and you endured. But it was not endurance alone that freed you; it was love. Do you acknowledge this?”

“I do,”

Charles said clearly.

Hesitation and Doubt Removed

“And do you take this woman, Catherine, daughter of Beta William, curse-breaker and truth-speaker, as your Luna Queen? To stand beside you in ruling these territories, to share your burdens and your joys, and to be your partner in all things?”

“I do, without hesitation or doubt.”

The priestess turned to me, and her ancient eyes held something warm.

“Catherine, you were called broken, defective, less than. But you proved that strength comes in many forms, that the courage to stay is as powerful as the strength to fight. Do you acknowledge this?”

My throat was tight.

“I do.”

“And do you take this man, Charles Washington, Alpha King and bearer of two souls, as your mate and king? To stand beside him in ruling these territories, to share his burdens and his joys, and to be his partner in all things?”

Bound by Choice

I looked at Charles—at the man who’d seen value in me when no one else would, who taught me I was worth more than my defects, who’d loved me with both his human mind and his beast heart.

“I do,”

I said completely.

The priestess smiled.

“Then by the power vested in me by the moon goddess and the ancient laws of our kind, I bind you together. Let no wolf, no alpha, no force in this world separate what has been joined.”

She produced two rings—silver bands etched with moonstone and obsidian: the moon and the void, light and dark intertwined.

Charles took my left hand, sliding the ring onto my finger.

“With this ring, I give you my heart, my crown, my truth—all of me, wholly.”

I took his hand, my fingers steady as I placed his ring.

“With this ring, I give you my courage, my honesty, my love—all of me, wholly.”

My Queen, My King

“Then it is done,”

the priestess declared.

“Alpha King Charles and Luna Queen Catherine, bound by choice and blessed by the moon. May your reign be long and your love be unbreakable.”

The hall erupted in applause—genuine from some, polite from others—but it didn’t matter. Charles was pulling me into his arms and kissing me in front of everyone.

The world narrowed to just us. When we finally broke apart, both breathless, he pressed his forehead to mine.

“My queen,”

he murmured.

“My king,”

I replied.

And for the first time in my life, the title felt right. The celebration that followed was overwhelming.

Redirection and Respect

It was a feast with hundreds of guests, each requiring acknowledgement and conversation: Alphas wanting to curry favor, Lunas offering carefully worded congratulations, and nobles positioning themselves for advantage.

I smiled until my face hurt, made small talk until my throat was raw, and tried not to let anyone see how exhausting it all was.

Charles stayed close, his hand on my back or my waist. He was a constant anchor.

Whenever someone’s questions became too pointed or their tone too condescending, he would smoothly redirect the conversation.

“Your Luna is remarkably composed for someone so inexperienced,”

one elder Luna commented, her smile not reaching her eyes.

“Catherine has more wisdom than many twice her age,”

Charles replied coolly.

“Experience isn’t measured only in years, Lady Helena. The queen has broken a five-year curse.”

“I’d say that’s more experience with the impossible than any of us can claim,”

Thera added, appearing at my elbow with perfect timing. Lady Helena retreated, chastened.

Primal Traditions

“Thank you,”

I murmured to Thera.

“Don’t thank me. Just survive.”

She glanced around the crowded hall.

“There are twenty females here who wanted to be standing where you are. At least half of them will try to undermine you in the coming months. Stay sharp.”

“How do I fight people who smile to my face and plot behind my back?”

“By being smarter, more strategic, and utterly unwilling to back down.”

Thera’s eyes gleamed.

“You’ve already proven you can survive a beast. Nobles are just beasts in prettier clothing.”

As the evening wore on, the formal celebration gave way to something more primal. The wolves wanted to run.

The Pack Run

It was tradition: after a Luna Queen coronation, the pack would shift and hunt together under the moon, cementing the new Luna’s place in the hierarchy through shared ritual.

My stomach dropped. I couldn’t shift. Everyone knew it, and now they were all going to watch me stand aside while they transformed and ran.

It was a constant reminder of what I lacked. Charles sensed my tension immediately.

“We don’t have to do this,”

he said quietly.

“We can excuse ourselves, claim exhaustion.”

“No.”

I straightened my spine.

“If I’m going to be Luna Queen, I can’t hide from pack traditions—even the ones that highlight my limitations.”
